Posted

By Sentinel Staff

The Unified Command, Sitka’s multi-agency coronavirus task force announced that three more positive test results for COVID-19 had come in Monday. All three were from Sitka male residents.

A news release today said Sitka’s cumulative positive test count is now at 36 resident cases, 15 non-resident cases.

Two of the Monday cases are in their 20s, were tested August 15 and 17, and are symptomatic.

The other man is in his 60s, and asymptomatic, and was tested August 14.

Results for all three confirmed cases were received from the Alaska Department of Public Health and Social Services.

The patients are isolating and public health officials are conducting contact investigation, and “will notify and isolate additional persons that may have been in contact with these individuals as appropriate.”

The Unified Command dashboard shows 1 cumulative hospitalization and 48 total cases recovered.

“Data is provisional and may change,” the news release says. “Please note that occasionally there is a lag between cases being reported on the DHSS data dashboard and what local communities report as details are confirmed and documentation is received.”
