Sitka’s numbers for COVID-19 transmission continue to rise with four cases reported in the last three days.

The 14-day rolling average today stood at .64 cases per day, keeping Sitka in the “moderate” risk range. Five of the most recent six positive test results were attributed to “travel.”

The three latest cases were residents who were symptomatic: a man in his 60s, tested April 2 with results April 5; and two girls, 10-19, tested April 5 and 6 with results on April 6.

(Another positive result was posted at press time today.)

The dashboard at cityofsitka.org says the current number of active cases is 7. Sitka’s vaccinations rates climbed slowly with 4,070 listed as “fully vaccinated” (58.72 percent); and 4,543 “partially vaccinated” (65.55 percent). Before the three most recent cases, Sitka had only one resident case and two nonresidents in eight days.
