Absentee in-person voting is off to a steady start at Harrigan Centennial Hall for the general election, with 149 casting ballots on the first day, Monday, and another 100 coming in by press time today.
Absentee in-person voting hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays through November 2 in Room 3 at Harrigan Centennial Hall, with access provided from outside the building.
Election Day is Tuesday, November 3.
Election official Dorothy Orbison said the first two days have been “steady” and “busy” for the early voting option. COVID precautions are in place, including tape Xs stuck to the floor for physical distancing, separate entrance and exit doors, and voting booths and pens are sanitized after each use. A door at the entrance asks voters to wear a mask.
Items on the ballot include the presidential election, and election for U.S. Senate and Representative; state Senate and House seats; the retention of judges; and ballot measures related to oil taxes, and the primary election process.
More details on voting and the ballot will be available in future editions of the Sentinel.
