One new COVID-19 case was posted on the city dashboard Wednesday, bringing the rolling case average to 3.5.
The dashboard on cityofsitka.org lists nine active cases.
Wednesday’s positive was from a test taken the day before, for a symptomatic male resident, age 40-49, who is isolating in Sitka. The transmission classification was determined to be “secondary,” and contact tracing is completed.
The dashboard shows the 14-day rolling case rate average is on the decline, but still well into the “red” or high-risk category. Sitka has been in the red – above an average of 1 case per day – since early November. The peak was an average of 5 cases a day, about a week ago and has been steadily declining since then.
Sitka has had 222 cumulative resident cases, and 21 nonresidents. Of the 243 total cumulative cases, 213 are “recovered,” according to the dashboard. In the last week, Sitka has had two days with no cases, three days with 1 case, one day with 2 cases, and one day (December 6) with 4.
