Despite the addition of 10 positive test results for COVID on Tuesday, Sitka took a slight step down in its case rate.
Nine resident cases and one nonresident were added to the daily count. The 14-day rolling case rate went from 10.5 on Monday, to 10 average cases per day Tuesday.
The new cases added Tuesday were for ages 10-79, with contact tracing in process. Five individuals were tested and received results on the same day. The other three were tested August 6-8. One of the residents and the nonresidents were not yet posted today on the individual case reports.
In the meantime both SEARHC and Harry Race Pharmacy are continuing to take sign-ups for their free vaccination clinics.
The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services reported the partial vaccination figure for Sitka as 5,733 (77.63 percent) and fully vaccinated at 5,288 (71.60 percent). The figures are based on the age 12 and up population of 7,385.
