In an aerial survey from Crawfish Inlet to Salisbury Sound today, approximately 9.0 nautical miles of active herring spawning was observed along Second Narrows, Dorothy Narrows, Windy Pass, and in Salisbury Sound, the Department of fish and Game reported. To date, a cumulative total of approximately 53.3 nautical miles of herring spawn has been mapped.
The next fishery update can be expected Friday after the next scheduled aerial survey, F&G said. A final report will be issued once spawn deposition surveys are complete.
