Tourism Plan for '23 Goes Before Panel

At tonight’s Planning Commission meeting Planning Director Amy Ainslie will present her proposal for developing a 2023 tourism plan for the community.

In her staff report for the meeting she said the “primary areas needing recommendations” include Lincoln Street closures, temporary restroom locations, safety improvements, programs and amenities, and planning for the years ahead.

“Staff recommends that we work through each subject area on the list, taking public comment on each and referencing how the End-of-Season Tourism Survey results may inform each,” the memo says. “Staff will consolidate the general direction/preference of the Commission, and bring it back as a consolidated 2023 Tourism Operating Plan for the Commission review and recommend approval of on December 7th. It will then be forwarded to the Assembly for their consideration.”

Discussion of the 2023 tourism plan is the only business item on the agenda for tonight’s Planning Commission meeting.
