Two men have been charged with murder in the death of an 80-year-old man at his home in Klawock early Tuesday, the Alaska Bureau of Investigation and Alaska State Troopers reported Wednesday.
Troopers were called at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday about an assault in progress at the home of Lincoln Peratrovich. Peratrovich was declared deceased at the scene, troopers said.
Moses Blanchard, 22, and Blaise Dilts, 21, both of Klawock, were arrested and charged with murder in the second degree, manslaughter, and burglary in the first degree. They were arraigned on Wednesday and bail was set at $510,000 for each, court officials said. The men were held in the Craig police department jail after their arraignment, Craig police said.
The investigation is ongoing, but troopers said Blanchard and Dilts assaulted Peratrovich in his home, which resulted in his death.
Peratrovich’s body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy in Anchorage.
The death is being investigated by the Alaska Bureau of Investigation with assistance from troopers in Craig and Ketchikan and area Village Public Safety Officers, troopers said.
