A van with four passengers was driven out of the Eliason Harbor parking area and into the water Sunday, police and fire officials said today.
None of the four – three men and a woman – was injured, the officials said.
The Fire Department sent a fire engine and an ambulance to the scene after callers reported the traffic accident, early Sunday afternoon, Chief Craig Warren said. He notified the Coast Guard Marine Safety Detachment afterward because of the van’s being in the water.
Quality Care Service tow truck pulled the van out of the water, police said. The depth of the water wasn’t known, a spokesperson said, but the accident occurred at high tide.
A police investigation is underway.
