Sitka Unified Command today reported a new positive test result for COVID-19 in the community, the third reported in two days.

The latest confirmed case is a non-resident woman, age 30-39, who received COVID-19 testing at the airport on June 29 and is isolating. She is asymptomatic, Unified Command said.

State Public Health officials told Unified Command about the positive test result on Tuesday for the public announcement issued at noon today.

The latest positive case follows two reported Monday, also non-residents, who were tested at the airport.

Public Health Officials have started contact tracing on the new cases, which bring Sitka’s cumulative totals to 12 Sitka residents and 6 nonresidents.

The Unified Command chart lists 11 of the cases as “recovered.”
