Nonprofit Seeks Home
Heartland Alaska, a nonprofit organization, is seeking a downtown Sitka space to set up a portable photo studio for a fundraiser to benefit an after-school program, ‘‘Mushing for Minors.’’
Those who have space available can call Robin Shull at 738-1934.
BIHA Board Meets
Baranof Island Housing Authority board of commissioners will meet 5 p.m. July 21 at 245 Katlian Street. The public is invited to attend.
Sports Injuries
Prevention Taught
Sitka Physical Therapy will offer free injury prevention/pre-season training programs to any high school sporting activity.
A sport-specific warm-up can be designed for each activity, and shown to athletes to help prevent injury and aid in proper warm-ups to improve performance. Mechanical testing also is offered to help decrease risk of injury.
