Richard Tedwill Hattan

A celebration of the life of Richard Tedwill Hattan will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, at the Halibut Point Recreation Area main shelter.
Those attending are welcome to take a favorite dish to share.
Richie died Oct. 16 in Sitka. He was 41.
He was born in Sitka on July 3, 1973. He attended Sitka schools, and  was a carpenter with Clayton Construction for many years.
Along with woodworking and carpentry, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and hiking. He also liked cooking, barbequing, and family gatherings.
Richie Hattan was a kind-hearted, gentle soul, who loved everyone and always had a smile on his face.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jean Hattan-Kristovich, and his father, Don Hattan; sister Brandi Strelow; and brothers Teddy Mossburg and Billy Mossburg.
He is survived by his daughter, Vanessa Hattan; grandson Tucker Ellingson; sisters Crystal Kristovich, Traci Chapman and Lovi Hattan, and brother Jerry Strelow, all of Sitka; and his fiance, Wendy Venneberg of Salem, Ore.
His half-brother and half-sisters, Rick, Debra, Twila and Pam, of Washington state, and Diana Arnold of Juneau; nieces Stashea Strelow, Melissa McGraw, Amy Ann Strelow, Karra Black, Liz Wadsworth, Chelsea Joyner, JoAnna Wooten and Calliah Wilson; nephews Billy Hammock and Teddy Kibby; great-nieces and great-nephews Ava, Tianna, Chelsea, Avery, Lucas, Eli, Payzlee, Levi, Cooper and Hudson; stepsons Lane, Matthew and Teddy; and numerous extended family members also survive.
Pallbearers will be Richard Biggs, Jim Sackett, Bobby Bell, Kevin Stocker, Shane Odell and Rob Shearer.
Honorary pallbearers are Kyle Young, Rick Paden, Bill Paden, Steve Clayton, Billy Hammock, Steven Kristovich, Bob Chapman and Kelly Durgan.
